Asset-Based Community Development and Cooperatives

Registration is closed for this event

This webinar, facilitated by Zac Henson, will cover the basics of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and discuss how cooperatives are a perfect fit for this strategy of development.

ABCD is a method of community development that builds off the existing talents and skills within a community.  It is an operationalization of popular education with the community development sphere and has been used globally to create small-scale cottage industries such as fair trade coffee or arts and crafts.

Most cooperatives are either worker-owned or consumer-owned businesses and, when combined with ABCD, allow communities to capture a greater portion of the wealth flowing through their communities.
